Malachite is an insurance broker filing and document-management system currently in development. It is being designed to make incoming documents easier to sort, client files easier to understand and information easier to retrieve.

Why it matters

Insurance filing is not generic document storage.

Broker workflows depend on context: the client, policy, insurer, document type and action still required. Conventional folders and general-purpose storage tools often preserve the files but lose the structure around them. Malachite is being built around that structure.

What the structure has to carry

  • Which client and which policy a document belongs to
  • Which insurer issued it, and in what format
  • Whether it is a schedule, certificate, endorsement or claim
  • What still needs to happen before it can be filed
  • Who changed what, and when

File complete documents, selected pages or records without attachments when the workflow requires it.

Combined document viewing

Review related documents in a continuous viewer while retaining control over individual pages.

Email workflow support

Support faster movement of documents from Outlook into the correct filing process.

Audit history

Maintain a useful record of important changes and actions throughout the system.
